Magnetorheological Transmission for Total Artificial Heart

چکیده
We proposed a new transmission to control the flow difference between left and right pumps in total artificial hearts. The consists of input output shafts, magnetorheological fluid, electromagnets with adjustable current position. A motor rotates shaft transmission. transfers torque that decelerated rotational speed according resistance fluid. First, we measured when load is 5 mNm, was 2000 rpm. shafts changed from 450 rpm 6 increased electromagnet 0.4 0.55 A. 2 219 moved position 9 mm. Also, analyzed magnetic flux density distribution change or by 3D computational field analysis. These results show affects speed. yield stress identified based on results. In this paper, developed enough small has sufficient performance.

The CardioWest total artificial heart for chronic heart transplant rejection.
Mechanical circulatory support has been used to treat graft failure after heart transplantation, but in patients who needed mechanical circulatory support because of chronic rejection, we have suffered from the treatment because its outcome was catastrophic. Multiple organ failure was often caused by the addition of or increase in immunosuppressive medications, and it is known as a cause of the...
متن کاملArtificial Heart DEVELOPMENT OF THE PHYSlOLOGlCAL CONTROL SCHEME FOR AN ELECTROHYDRAULIC TOTAL ARTIFICIAL HEART
A totally implantable artificial heart actuated by an electrohydraulic energy converter is described and the requirements for its physiological control scheme are listed. Eased on these specifications and on previous work done in our laboratory on control schemes for the Electro-Hydraulic Total Artificial Heart (EHTAH), preliminary experiments were conducted which confirmed the feasibility of t...

With advances in technology, the use of mechanical circulatory support devices for end stage heart failure has rapidly increased. The vast majority of such patients are generally well served by left ventricular assist devices (LVADs). However, a subset of patients with late stage biventricular failure or other significant anatomic lesions are not adequately treated by isolated left ventricular ...
